Thursday night (5-21-15) Venice magazine threw a party at 15th St. Fisheries in Ft. Lauderdale celebrating their latest issue featuring super model Samantha Hoopes on the cover. There was a 60% chance of thunderstorms and general manager Carlos Rives had tents erected on the fuel dock in case of a deluge. I complimented Carlos and his staff for their impressive service and attention to details. The storm loomed to the west over the Everglades on our boat ride to the event.

Lauderdale Marina’s docks were closed for the private shindig, but we arrived early and grabbed our favorite spot inside the horseshoe shaped area in front of the restaurant. Spanking new Van Dutch yachts were prominently displayed for sale.

The belle of the ball was Samantha Hoopes. The Sports Illustrated swimwear addition sensation sidled up to me for a snapshot. She even liked the fishy shirt I wore for 15th St. Fisheries.

The night lights at 15th St. Fisheries makes a scenic setting that’s sure to enhance any celebration. Venice supplied free libations and wait people roamed the crowd with trays of tasty treats.

To top off a fun evening, the storm clouds that stayed at bay made for an awesome sunset above the boats in the marina. Thanks again Venice Magazine for a fine Thursday night out.
