President’s Day (2-16-15) was cool, cloudy and the yellow warning flags were posted on the lifeguard towers. Not ideal for lazing on the beach as we had planned. Still, a decent day to sit in the sun and sip beach drinks.

My new boat’s former owner requested that we return his signboards when we changed the name to LyonsRoar. We drove to his house in Lighthouse Point and dropped off the signs as an excuse to return to the Sands Harbor Resort & Marina for lunch on the deck by the ICW. Karen brought the Cruzan rum punch bucket she drank from on our last visit for a discounted refill. We had a leisurely lunch, schmoozed with the locals and relaxed by the waterway.

Karen and I have a tradition of drawing each other on Valentine’s Day since those cold, snowy nights we celebrated at home in Chicago. We got carried away and forgot to make the portraits during our Valentine’s Day cruise, so we created our drawings on the deck at Sands Harbor. We’re not good at drawing each other by any means, but the pictures always make us laugh. The folks at tables around us also found them quite amusing. It was another great day with my sweetheart.
